Meet your guide at the TER train station in the heart of downtown Dakar, hop aboard the iconic Car Rapide and begin your tour in the city’s historic district. Your first stop will be Kermel Market. Along the way, you’ll also see City Hall, the Presidential Palace, Independence Square and the National Assembly, before stopping at the city’s main cathedral for a short walk. Continue along the Corniche and enjoy stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean before reaching the famous Mosque of the Divinity. From there, walk along the pier leading towards the beach before heading up to the higher parts of the city. Discover the impressive African Renaissance Monument and, if you wish, climb to the top of this 52-metre-high landmark for spectacular panoramic views over Dakar. The tour then continues to Soumbédioune, Dakar’s traditional fishing district, home to a lively craft market where you can browse a wide range of locally made products.
