Introduction to Senegalese Wrestling – Dakar

Senegalese wrestling, also known as Laamb, is one of Senegal’s most popular sports, bringing together athleticism, culture and tradition. This experience takes place on Cassation Beach in Dakar. During the session, you’ll learn more about the importance of wrestling in Senegalese culture before taking part in a training session — and, for the more adventurous, even trying a friendly bout with the wrestlers. As this is a gender-segregated activity, women are welcome to watch the training session but cannot take part in bouts with the male wrestlers. However, female participants can learn and practise some wrestling techniques together if they wish (in this case, please select the women’s rate when booking).
